The old maps show how the original Shandon neighborhood was conceived. In addition, this website is full of information. It provides the quarterly newsletter produced by the neighborhood council and the information about city services and neighborhood events.
Shandon is over 100 years old and the neighborhood reflects the diversity of Columbia's heritage. Each home is unique. The wide streets make it perfect for children and adults alike to walk, run and ride bicycles. The beautiful dogwoods that line Wheat street are a tourist attraction upon the advent of Spring. The beauty of Shandon as well as its proximity to Five Points and downtown Columbia ensures that Shandon will always be a vibrant neighborhood.
